This is a picture of me eating my favorite ice cream in the world! It is homemade in Amsterdam. It is a mixture of ice cream and whipped cream. When you buy the cone, they mix the ice cream and whipped cream right in front of you! You have to know the right place to look for it though, as the ice cream store is hidden within a bakery. We were told the location of the store by another fellow ice cream eater who was sitting on a bench in the square eating ice cream.
This is a picture of me enjoying the yummy Bavarian pretzel. These pretzals leave the American pretzels in the dust! The only problem is that they are a little too salty for me. The Germans must be used to the great doses of salt.
This was a dog owned by one of the people we met at one of our ferry crossings when biking along the Danube. My mom says than when we come back to the U.S. they will get me a dog. A big fluffy one like this one. I love dogs! (Addendum by Mom: "I said nothing of the sort! We will get a dog only when Rohan is willing and able to clean up all the poop. Mom will do nothing!!")
This picture shows Harry enjoying the great pleasures of a good German wheat beer. These beers are made with yeast. There is no drinking age in Europe so my dad gave me a sip of his, and it is amazing! This picture was taken in Austria on our long bike ride along the Danube. We were at a local, family owned beer garden. A beer garden is an outdoor garden with tables, food, and service. This is different from a cafe because of it's fenced in area and big trees and umbrellas.
This shows the great beauty of the Italian sun set. Isn't that just memorizing? Also the fields and the little cottage pictured here are quintessential Italy!
I think my family really needed this last month. It helped us work out our stress and irritability. Europe is clean and easy to travel in. But once we get to India, travel will be much more stressful and we won't be able to afford stress amongst our family also.
Thank you for reading Rohan Geographic!
P.S.
For the next week we may be away from the internet, so if you do not hear from me, know that I am alright! We will be boating in Northern Slovenia with our friend Maren. I will fill you in soon!
Wow! A dog! That's great Rohan. They are alot of work - are you ready for that? They need to be walked at least 30 minutes a day. For you, that would be early in the morning before school. Shouldn't be a issue I'd think - you love waking up early!!! Ha!
ReplyDeleteHave fun boating in N Slovenia...

ReplyDeleteDog and grog are present in the blog, but I see no mention of the Amsterdam clog??? What up?
ReplyDeleteHi Rohan et al.,
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time in Northern Slovenia. I had to look on a map to see where Slovenia was - the northern part must be in the mountains.
I am so very much liking your personal perspectives about your trip as well as the descriptions of where you are visiting. I'm in favor too of you having a dog because an animal adds so much love to your life - much more than the trouble of caring for it.
Love, Grandma Doris
Hello, blog posters! I am happy to hear that you all support my dog, but as you can see my mom does not.
