The World Trip Begins

My family has been planing a world trip for 8 years, and I can hardly wait for our departure from the US.  You see, we technically left 6 days ago.  Personally, I don’t think it counts as actually leaving.  I say that because we have only arrived in Portland, Maine.  Our first real destination is Amsterdam.  It’s going to be so cool.  I just can’t wait one more day!  I have never been so excited in my entire life!

Our first day in Portland, we were greeted by some close friends, a couple named Doug and Sheila. They have a son named Liam.  When we all came back from the airport we had something to drink and went to bed.  We all were out like a rock, since we had had a long, long over night flight.  Or I should say, over night flights.

The next day we all slept in till 12:30!  When we woke up, we ate eggs and bacon and talked for awhile until Liam came home from school.  When Liam came home, Liam and I played outside for awhile.  That night we drove over to Andrea and Stewart’s house. Andrea is a very, very, very close friend of my mom’s.  For dinner I ate lamb. Afterwords I ended up staying the night there.

When the weekend came, I stayed at my favorite auntie’s house.  Her name is Eileen.  One of our traditions is going to yard sales.  When we were driving to a yard sale, a girl fell off her minibike.  We got out of our car and contacted the dad of the girl that got badly hurt.  She ended up getting stitches.  Boy, my dad is a doctor and he has seen so many accidents on minibikes.  He would never let me have one.

After Eileen’s, we went to Pat and Carol’s for dinner.  They have a 3 year old.  He is amazing with the bike and the skate board.  He knows some cool tricks.  They also have some sweet Hammocks.

I love the spirit of Maine.   Every body seems so happy.  I cant wait to come again.

  9. Rohan I think you need a map or some other graphical representation of everywhere you have been so people can get an overview of your trip, like where you went and how long you stayed, and if you got fancy, you could even say what you did when you were at each place! That's for people like me who just learned of your story at the end of your trip, or the people that read your blog later on!
